Puppy dog tails.....and pee on the seat?????

Is this what boys are made of???

Ok, yes. I know. I did grow up with a younger brother. I am quite aware of the male species' lack of aim. What I don't get is why my husband taught my just-newly-potty-trained son that real men pee standing up.

Couldn't he sit down to pee for at least 6 months? Would this have totally ruined his masculinity? I mean, in 6 months he might actually be tall enough to pee inside of the toilet instead of having a bathroom fountain spraying all over my toothbrushes? (*Note to self: Get new toothbrush tomorrow)

Secondly, I'm one of these people who think you should touch the toilet as little as possible. Yes, even in my own home. My husband did teach Jack to lift the seat before relieving himself but I'm not so sure that's a good thing either. C'mon if you've lived with a man, you know what's under there.......and I know...germs are not gonna kill him but now I have to clean that thing everyday now knowing my little baby is having to pee like a man.......

I did want him potty trained, right?

Yay, you're back! Been missin' ya in bloggyville, girl!

ROFL on the fountain spraying all over the toothbrushes!

We haven't been too successful with potty training around here, and I'm dreading the day Judah finally 'gets' it, and we have fountains in our bathroom. Lucky for me, since moving into this house a year and a half ago, I've, ahem, 'conditioned' the males to use the main bathroom, and I get the master one all to myself, or I'd be spending a lot of time wearing my angry eyes.

Oh man... that sounds pretty awesome. Good luck with the training, and sorry about your toothbrush. :)

I think it is ok for them to sit for awhile. It does not make them any less a guy! And then in the spring, let him go outside! LOL

Get a couple hardback books that you DON'T want anymore. Let him stand on one or two till he is just the right height to "get over the edge" Thats what I did, a stool was too high, but a couple books worked out just fine....or if you have something else that is safe to stand on that would work too.

Hubby didn't tell T to stand, he just decided one day that he didn't see Daddy sitting so he shouldn't either. I had him trained to dab his "peepee" LOL with a small piece of TP to keep it from getting all on the seat or rim, until lately, now he tries to "shake it off!" Now we are getting a little messy!!!

I'm thinking you should teach him that real men pee off the back porch......waaay less clean up for you!

I agree with Deedra....not only you do not have the mess....they kill the grass/weeds/shrubs/flowers, etc..the list goes on and on!

OK OK I'm commenting...Jack is so going to hate you for that picture of him on the pot...toooo funny. Coming from a Mom with 3 boys in the house, keep some clean up wipes on the back of the toilet and have fun wiping for the next 16or so years! Just wait til he pulls the ole look Mom no hands while standing in front of the potty! (Don't forget to wipe the walls) Gotta Love those boys!!!

Well at least you didn't teach him to wipe after he peed like I did Sawyer. Luke was never around during the day while I was potty training him so I didn't know boys didn't dab. Luke almost croaked when he found out Sawyer was using toilet paper. Said something like he'd get beat up in the locker room.

I knew dudes were disgusting but ewwww?? Drip dry?

just for that I made him teach the others. :)

I live in a house with two housemates, one male, David, and one female, Teresa. (I'm female). Recently Teresa admitted to me that she stepped into a puddle of pee on the bathroom floor that David had left and was on the warpath. (They share the upstairs bathroom.) I had left a note in the downstairs bathroom that said, "After using the toilet remember to put the toilet seat down and wipe up all spill/spray. Thanks." This seemed to discourage David from using that bathroom, but his antics continue upstairs.

Now I see this blog and I realize: the mothers are enablers!!!! Why do you gals put up with this? why is it YOUR job to clean up after your husbands/sons? In addition to leaving pee around the toilet sat, he leaves whiskers/hair in the sink (he's one of the bald guys who shaves his head). Teresa and I have had it and are giving him an ultimatum: either he cleans up after himself or he leaves.

Ladies, why do you put up with this? Please teach your sons to clean up after themselves, because if you don't you're going to be handing their untidy habits to future girlfriends/wives. Imagine how well the guys would take if if we left drops of menstrual blood all over the toilet seat! What, you got a problem with that, fella? Can't imagine why!!!! so why are you putting up with the pee?
